Prediction KBO Rankings

I decided to write this article predicting the current KBO standings because I have recently developed a huge interest in the league. These days, I spend much of my free time watching KBO games, often dedicating significant hours to following the action. Through this article, I wanted to explore my passion in greater depth by analyzing the standings.

The analysis is based on data as of May 20, 2025. At that point in the season, most teams had played at least 43 out of the 144 regular-season games—roughly one-third of the schedule.

Please remember that this article reflects my personal predictions, so don’t take it too seriously

1st Place: LG Twins

dings by about two games, with a winning percentage of roughly 66%, the best in the league. In their last 10 games, they’ve gone 8–2, showing their dominance. . If LG can maintain their consistI predict the LG Twins will finish the 2025 season in first place. As of now, they lead the standings by about two games, with a winning percentage of roughly 66%, the best in the league. In their last 10 games, they’ve gone 8–2, showing their dominance. If LG can maintain their consistency, they have a strong chance of finishing the season on top.

2nd Place: Lotte Giants

While the standings currently show them in third, I predict the Lotte Giants will finish second. Lotte boasts one of the strongest batting lineups this season and has shown impressive performance. While they haven’t made the postseason since 2017, things look different this year. With a current winning percentage of about 60%, fans are hopeful. Moreover, Lotte’s last championship was in 1992, so many supporters are optimistic that this could finally be their year.

3rd Place: Hanwha Eagles

Hanwha has surprised everyone this season. From 2019 to 2024, they averaged a league position of 9.3, but in 2025, they’re showing a new side with strong starting pitchers and a productive batting order. On May 12, they recorded a 12-game winning streak, the longest in the club’s 33-year history. If the players in their rotation stays healthy, Hanwha could very well remain in the top-tier for the rest of the season.

4th Place: Kia Tigers

Last season, Kia finished first in the regular season and won the Korean Series, proving themselves as a powerhouse. However, this year has started off slowly. With key injuries—including to Patrick Wisdom, who hit 88 home runs in MLB, the team has struggled. Their bullpen has also been underwhelming. Still, if their injured players return and regain form, Kia could rediscover the explosive offense that carried them in 2024.

5th Place: Samsung Lions

Samsung is currently in 8th place (22 wins, 25 losses), but their .354 on-base percentage and .428 slugging percentage show they are still competitive offensively. The main issue lies in their bullpen. A poor 3–7 record in their last 10 games highlights this weakness. A midseason adjustment might help, but realistically, a finish around 5th place seems likely.

6th Place: KT Wiz

KT is currently tied for 5th place (22–23–3). Their biggest strength is a fairly balanced starting rotation. However, with a slugging percentage of only .352, their lack of power is a concern. They’ve also had 3 draws, which points to a lack of finishing ability. KT may drop to 6th.

7th Place: SSG Landers

SSG is currently 4th (23–22–1) and riding a 7–3 run over their last 10 games. However, there are concerns about fatigue in the second half of the season. Aging key players and overworked starters could hold them back. Despite their strong start, I predict a gradual fall to around 7th place as the season progresses.

8th Place: NC Dinos

NC sits in 7th place (20–22–1). Their .340 OBP and .401 SLG are above average, but injuries to key players and a lack of bench depth are significant issues. The loss of ace Pedi has hurt the team, and I expect further drop-off as the season wears on. A final position around 8th seems realistic.

9th Place: Doosan Bears

Currently 9th (19–26–2), the Doosan Bears are struggling. While they have solid fundamentals, they’ve suffered a 4-game losing streak and are 3–6–1 in their last 10 games. Injuries and the aging of core players are serious concerns. Without major changes, it’s hard to see them escaping the lower ranks.

10th Place: Kiwoom Heroes

Kiwoom is having a brutal season, sitting in last place with a 14–36 record and a winning percentage of .280. They rank last in both on-base percentage (.302) and slugging percentage (.335). Over their last 10 games, they’ve won just once (1–9), showing complete collapse. The only bright spot is the potential of their young players, but realistically, it’s unlikely they’ll climb out of the bottom.
