In preparation for next semester, the Giant Council Committee was invited to have a conversation with the candidates for this newly opened position: Joergen Glittenberg and Michelle Kleiss. Have a read and get to know about them!

Joergen Glittenberg

An IB educator for 15 years, Joergen Glittenberg, has worked in various countries. He was a head of school at Yaoundé (Cameroon), Norway, A curriculum coordinator in China, and has worked in other positions in North Carolina, Argentina, and Ethiopia. He also has a thesis on Political Science. He is a global citizen and an interesting fit for the school. His main point of the conversation was the opinion of students in his decision and the advocation of students’ voices. He took a keen interest in the face-to-face day and in the position of the high regard that Giant Council has in the community, he also offered any help necessary for the dissemination of representation of students’ voices.
Michelle Kleiss

Michelle Kleiss used to work in EAC as an elementary school teacher in 1997, and is really enthusiastic to come back! She also had various around-the-world adventures, where she taught in elementary school in Dominican Republic, and in Bavaria. She was also the head of school in Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, and Cyprus, and the Middle school principal in Egypt. She was the Director of The Early Childhood Education Center at The American International School in Egypt. Her academic achievements are stellar as she has a bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD in education, and a master’s in education leadership, administration, and supervision.
