The 2022 EAC Halloween Party

Last month, on October 29th, Giants of all ages came together to celebrate the day of the dead in an unforgettable event furnished by EAC. The tradition of having an event for Halloween every year was unfortunately interrupted by Covid 19 on 2020 and 2021; but now the ceremony has awakened once again in the most amusing way, with several new additions to the same party that had happened in the years prior.

Beginning at 6:00 P.M., the grand opening of the Halloween Party was a parade, inviting all elementary school students to show their costumes alongside their teachers. The students walked confidently onto a lighted platform as a teacher excitedly hollered their class’s name. The parade was followed by several performances with different characters, which brought joy to both the parents and the students of our community.

Besides these exhibits, EAC provided booths with a variety of activities for us to participate in. Some of these tents were even made to raise money for charity. For example, the “Glow Slime Workshop” booth was made by the CSA “Projeto Mimosa” in order to raise money for buying basic women’s essentials and donating to those who can’t afford them. Some of the participants of the project volunteered to work on the booth to help the cause, and spent some time in their evening assisting those who wanted to make the neon slime. Other booths included a variety of fun activities to entertain the students all night. Though it was expected to see them on the soccer field, all of the game booths were located on the outdoor basketball court due to rain expectations. In addition, on the society soccer field, there was a variety of toys for the children to play with, including inflatable playgrounds, trampolines, etc.

Though the game booths were a big hit, the main event of the night was the Haunted House. The Haunted House was fully prepared by the students of the upper years and the drama club. It was very well organized and undeniably scary. Located in the Old Gym, the Haunted House consisted of a series of different rooms that each had diverse terrifying scenarios. The main theme was an abandoned asylum, therefore many students who were helping make the haunted house dressed up with white clothes covered in blood to scare those who dared to go inside. The event was such a success that from the beginning of the Halloween Party to the end, there was a huge line going all the way to the cantina to go inside the Haunted House.

Aside from the Halloween Party itself, EAC already began setting the spooky season spirit by putting up several scary decorations throughout the entire school about a week prior to the event. There were skeletons covered in leaves in the grass field near the picnic tables; a spider web with a huge spider on the EAC sign at the entrance of the school; a creepy display in front of the administration office; and much more.
