Little 8 Tournament – May 1st – 7th

This week the EAC Giants went to participate in the Little 8 Tournament. A sports competition between 8 American schools in Brasil: EAC Giants, Chapel Trojans, Graded Eagles, Paca Warriors, St. Pauls Lions, EAB Bulls, EARJ Panthers, British Falcons.

Final placements:

• JV Girls basketball – 5th place
• JV Boys basketball – 2nd place
• JV Girls soccer – 3rd place
• JV Boys soccer – 8th place
• JV Girls volleyball – 5th place
• JV Boys volleyball – 2nd place

As the awards continued, the sportsmanship awards were given to the athletes that demonstrated the most sportsmanship through the games of the tournament. Here are the athletes from EAC that won the awards:

• JV Boys soccer – Gabriel Duarte (Gabigol) 
• JV Girls soccer – Nadia Freitas 
• JV Boys volleyball – Felipe Elias
• JV Girls volleyball – Débora Sabino

The Tournament was a success, after 2 years of the pandemic and the isolations, the tournaments were able to happen. Even without winning first place, we were still able to achieve good placements and 3 titles, girls soccer, boys volleyball, and boys basketball.
