Return to Play

For the first time in nineteen months, the Giants have taken back to the courts, once again engaging in competitive athletic competitions with other schools. This Saturday, October 23rd, our athletes traveled to Graded to play four games in the following categories: girl’s soccer, boy’s soccer, girl’s volleyball, and boy’s volleyball.

Out of the four games, two were victories and two were losses. The girl’s volleyball team won by three sets to zero(3×0) against the Graded Eagles. The game was close. The sets ended with no more than five points of difference between both teams; however, by the end, the EAC girls were able to win the three sets. The second win of the day was the boy’s soccer team, who won the game by two goals to one (2×1).

The two goals scored by EAC were done by Eduardo Schwartzmann and Matheus Scanavez, resulting in another great win for the Giants.

Sadly, there were two losses. The first was of the boy’s volleyball team, who lost the game by three sets (0x3). The results were not what we wished for, but we left the courts determined to improve for the following SPHL games. The second loss of the day was between the girls’ soccer teams. The game was extremely close as both teams scored one goal each; ours being scored by Débora Sabino. The result was to be decided by the final penalties. Unfortunately, Graded got the upper hand, winning by two to one penalties and taking the victory home for the Eagles.

The results for the first weekend weren’t the best, but it surely was a memorable start to this brief season. For the three weekend games left, let’s remember to cheer for our Giants!
