Traditionally EAC has multiple sports available, such as soccer, volleyball, futsal, and basketball. Naturally, there are many athletes who fall in love with the sport from a young age and choose to pursue a professional career in that sport.
Today the athlete featured is Jalen Peeples.
Jalen Peeples is an EAC alumni who has been a giant since 5th grade and graduated in 2018. Jalen is now pursuing a professional rugby player career in Cleveland Rugby League, a new team in the North American Rugby League (NARL). The NARL is a new Rugby League launched in March 2021 in North America. Including a total of 14 teams, 12 from the US and 2 from Canada (The Canadian Toronto Wolfpack, and the Ottawa Aces).
Even though we now see a Rugby player, he wasn’t always on this path. To most people’s surprise, Jalen used to play soccer and futsal here at EAC. After being asked about the impact on the early activities, he assured that playing soccer in school had a great impact on shaping the athlete he is today.
Stories of students like Jalen help athletes like myself to value their passion for sports and to always dream of becoming a better version of the athlete you are today.
