Latest Trends for Spring 2021

The season of rebirth finally arrived in the Southern Hemisphere and did not only bring flowers and blossoming trees but also the newest European and American spring collections designed in the beginning of the year.

As the weather gets hotter, life is finally going back to normal and people are slowly starting to get over the more relaxed “quarantine look” and entering a brighter fashion era; full of colorful patterns and bold cuts.

Vibrant graphics are definitely a must for this year’s Spring items; inspired by 70s fashion, designers such as Gabriela Hearst, Tom Ford and Emilio Pucci took a trip in the psychedelic prints and created stunning, mesmerizing looks.

More than crazy colorful prints, bold corsets are stronger than ever for those who like a bolder look. Since 2019, the item that was considered a “must” for women in Europe for centuries, made a major comeback in modern fashion. What made corsets so popular was its versatility not only in style but also in statement; you may wear it over a bottom-up shirt as a formal and mature look or with a matching miniskirt and heels for a more vivid and eye-catching look.

On the same page as bold prints and corsets, loose, baggy jeans and low rise mini skirts are starting to be seen not only on the runway but also in streetwear style as seen in many paparazzi pictures of celebrities and models. Popularized in the 1990s and  2000s, lowrise jeans made a major controversial came-back in 2020 as the era of “Y2K” is mostly remembered for the scandalous combinations of dresses and lowrise pants. As for miniskirts, the item has had its moments since the 60s and is back being styled with oversized shirts, tops, high heels and knee high boots.

Finally, according to Pantone, the color palette for spring 2021 includes shades of green, specifically mint, but also light blue, brown, pink and purple. More than that, spring is a season of bright colors and bold prints, so don’t be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and innovate this season!
